Community guidelines

A few promises that keep the playground fun.

Sideplay connects and showcases small projects by people who build things. During the beta we operate by these rules.

Applies to the beta service

Approval and what's provided

Sign in with GitHub and wait for an operator to approve your account. Each account gets its first two subdomains for free.

When both addresses are in use, you can request a higher limit with a reason. Operators review the services you already run before raising it.

New addresses and configuration changes need review and deployment time. As a free service, we don't guarantee continued availability or uptime.

Always add the Sideplay tag

Approved subdomains must add the Sideplay tag to their service's main HTML within a week. The rule keeps people from sitting on unused names and frees abandoned ones for others.

If the tag isn't seen for more than a week, the subdomain is paused; without a reactivation request in the following 14 days, its name is released. A released name needs a brand-new request.

Not allowed

Phishing, malware, spam, infringing other people's rights, illegal content, attacks on any service, and attempts to reach internal networks.

If we find signs of abuse or a security issue, we may suspend the account or connection and reclaim the address.

Your project, your responsibility

You run and are responsible for the server and content you connect. Only submit projects you made or have the right to share.

Public gallery entries show the project name, description, URL, category and your GitHub username. Your server's IP and port are never shown publicly.

What we store

To sign you in we store your GitHub user ID, username and verified email address. To run the service we keep sessions, account status, the addresses and server settings you request, and deployment and moderation history.

Operational statistics may include request and error logs. We never receive your GitHub password.

Deletion and contact

You can request deletion of an address from your workspace. The name isn't reassigned until its routing is removed.

For account deletion, project edits or removal, and abuse reports, contact the operator below.
