Terms of service

The terms for using Sideplay

These terms explain how Sideplay's free subdomains, project gallery, and workspace work.

Effective October 22, 2026

Service and operator

Junlab operates Sideplay. The service offers GitHub sign-in, free subdomain requests and routing, and a public project gallery. You provide and operate your own server; Sideplay does not host your code or content.

These terms apply when you use Sideplay. The community guidelines also apply to accounts, addresses, and projects.

Accounts and addresses

You sign in through GitHub. New accounts and address requests may be reviewed by an operator. During the beta, approved accounts can use up to two free addresses by default and request a higher limit.

An address remains under Sideplay's control. It is not transferred to you, and availability, approval, or a particular address is not guaranteed. You may request deletion from your workspace.

Installing the Sideplay tag

Within 7 days of approval, you must install the tag Sideplay specifies (<script src="https://sideplay.dev/sdk.js" data-project="…" async></script>) in the main HTML of the subdomain. The tag is used to prevent hoarding of subdomains, confirm that subdomains are in real use, reclaim abandoned subdomains for other users, and deliver operational notices such as new features or service announcements.

If the tag isn't found within 7 days of approval, or 7 days pass since it was last found (the "expiry date"), Sideplay may pause the subdomain without prior notice. A paused subdomain can't be used.

You may request reactivation from your workspace within 14 days of the expiry date. After that, the subdomain is stopped and its name released so other users can claim it; to use the same name again you must submit a new request. The same applies if the tag is removed or disabled.

Subdomains already in use must install the tag within 7 days of this section's effective date.

Your responsibilities

Keep your server reachable and secure, and make sure you have the right to publish the content and project details you submit. You are responsible for your server, content, and visitors' data handled by your project.

Do not use Sideplay for illegal content, infringement, phishing, malware, spam, attacks, or attempts to access private networks. We may restrict an account or address when needed to prevent abuse or protect the service and others.

Changes and availability

Sideplay is a free beta service. We may change, pause, or end features for maintenance, security, or operational reasons, and will announce material changes through the service where practical. Continuous availability is not guaranteed.

Material changes to these terms will be announced in advance through the service. The updated terms will show their effective date.
